LOCAL RESPONSE NOTES

Local help without the panic

The Nepean River, open reserves, warm western summers and a mix of older yards and new estates give this district several quite different call-out settings.

Calls range from compact courtyards and garages to riverside blocks, schools, warehouses and construction areas. The first priority is always to separate people and pets from the sighting.

When you call, the first questions are simple: where is the snake now, is anyone close to it, and can you keep watch from a safe position? That information is more useful than trying to guess the species.

Choose your suburb

You can find local notes for Penrith, Emu Plains, Glenmore Park, Kingswood, Cranebrook, Jordan Springs, St Marys, Werrington. The business is based in Penrith and travels to these areas; there is no claim of a separate office in each suburb.

Prepare the property safely

Tell us whether the snake is indoors, near a pool, beneath outdoor furniture or moving towards a fence. Clear directions to the driveway, unit or worksite entrance help us plan the safest approach.

Do not lift, prod or move anything around the snake. If it disappears, leave the area as undisturbed as possible and explain exactly where it was last seen.

Homes, businesses and worksites

Calls may involve buildings, gardens, pool areas, garages, sheds and managed or commercial property. Worksites should stop activity in the immediate area and nominate one person to meet the catcher.

Local landscape reference

The area notes are informed by NSW National Parks — Nepean River and Glenbrook landscape. The link supports the landscape context; it does not imply that a particular snake species is common at any address.
